Zepbound®

Zepbound® is an injectable prescription medication that may help adults with:
  • Obesity, or some adults with overweight who also have weight related medical problems to lose excess weight body weight and keep the weight off.
  • Moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and obesity to improve their OSA
It should be used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Zepbound contains tirzepatide and should not be used with other tirzepatide-containing products or any GLP-1 receptor agonist medicines. It is not known if Zepbound is safe and effective for use in children. Expected weight loss is 22.5% of body weight.

Wegovy®

WEGOVY® (semaglutide) injection 2.4 mg is an injectable prescription medicine that may help adults with obesity (BMI ≥30 for adults, or some adults with excess weight (BMI ≥27) (overweight) who also have weight-related medical problems to help them lose weight and keep it off.

Wegovy should be used with a reduced calorie meal plan and increased physical activity.

Wegovy contains semaglutide and should not be used with other semaglutide-containing products or other GLP-1 receptor agonist medicine.

It is not known if Wegovy is safe and effective when taken with other prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal weight loss products. It is not known if Wegovy can be used safely in people with a history of pancreatitis.

Expected weight loss is 16.9% of body weight.

Reproductive Considerations

  • Women who plan to become pregnant should not take weight loss medications.
  • Taking weight loss medications at the time of conception can cause harm to the developing child.
  • Weight loss medications should be discontinued at lease 2 months prior to attempting to become pregnant.
  • Contraception should be used for the entire duration of therapy and continued for two months once therapy ends.
  • We recommend pregnancy testing prior to beginning therapy with weight loss medications.
  • Women of child bearing age should monitor their menstrual cycles closely and perform regular pregnancy testing with your primary care provider or gynecologist.
